The Countdown
Clickity click, tickity tock
Down comes the countdown clock
The times we know are soon to end
Ain't time for chilling out with friends
Disasters everywhere we'll look
The laws of God that we forsook
Great principles of love and truth
The words of wisdom that we boot
Hurricanes, earthquakes, fires too
Floods, volcano eruptions will do
To destroy the lives of falsity lived
By the malice and cruelty that we give
For long we lived for us alone
Forgetting The King upon His throne
The time of fear will soon be here
The time of sorrows very near
And shame we thought it was before
But still good times is what we know
That's why we forget the only King
In church we go to shout and sing
The daily life that we live is fake
We are filled with deceit and filthy hate
Too bad, too bad cause so many will die
We hate the truth and cherish the lies
We love the evil and hate the goods
And the Bible says woe to such dudes
If ever the time for to turn it is now
If we value our lives we must somehow
To begin to love the right and true
By forsaking the wrong and all that we knew
We must acknowledge that we had it all wrong
If we don't I'm certain it won't be long
Till the pleasures of life which we enjoy through lies
Will forever dissolve before our eyes
Examine, examine, examine one's mind
We pretend to be good and loving and kind
But our hearts are colder than the North Pole
We hate each other from the depths of our souls
The time will come when some will say
If only I stopped pretending that day
And knowing the time right then's far past
Will weep and gnash the teeth the last
The time is short, the countdown on
For all the things in this life to be torn
So seek I first the kingdom's ways
I desire to have and prolong my days
I'm aware that God's people have no need to fear
As the time approaches for Him to appear
In the midst of disaster in peace we will be
He said that his righteous will dwell safely
Not fearing death through the life of his law
Till the countdown is stopped by the King of awe
