We Don't Know

Sometimes we take our lives lightly
But we don't know where our words can reach
Or the people with our lives that we teach
At times, we may feel like we don't make a mark
And wish to give up when we're under attack
Still we don't know we ignited some sparks
And someone is walking along our tracks
We don't know who we inspire
Or who we've delivered out of the fire
So when it's down to the wire
We can't give up; we can't give in
We don't know and to assume may be sin
Till the relief comes with the morning light
We must endure the dreadful night
Surely, it's a painful fight
But if we give up we'll never know
Just how much we can grow
If we give up we'll never see
What God knows we're meant to be
