The Voices We Hear
Listen carefully, what do you hear?
There are voices calling from everywhere.
Do you know the voices or is it all noise?
I'm sure you can hear at least one voice.
Are you weak in your hearing: only cheer recognized.
Are your ears only open to hypocrisy and lies?
Can the cries of the poor be decoded in your brain?
Or are the shouts of the rich driving you insane?
There's a cry from the wicked- can't be music to ears.
Know: voices of the JUST- only heard by WHO cares.
Come on my friend- that is all you can hear?
The cries of the wicked: celebrating so dear?
The sound of the rich: calling out for more
You allow them to obscure the mourns of the poor
Is your mind so shrouded or covered with soot?
Are your thoughts so entangled by the evil ones root?
Deafening voices call from far and wide.
Some of these voices: we should learn to confide
There are voices of truth: we often ignore.
When they sound like silence, one cannot be sure.
Why do we deny the realities of this time?
To ignore the cries is to conform to crime.
And the sin, which doth so easily beset,
Is the sin, which, in spite of warning, we let.
Anyway good, bad, happy, sad, rich or poor
We should not discriminate any more
When all different voices we can hear
We should pay attention; we should lend an ear.
Hear, and see what must be done, applied
To obtain the right remedy required for each cry.
We should really remember not to forget
Whatsoever we give is whatsoever we get.
And see to it that we inscribe the right choice.
For who knows: any day, any cry could be our voice.
